TRECHTENBERG

Trachtenberg Speed Math

Jwww.socialhapp.blgspot.comakow Trachtenberg spent years in a Nazi concentration camp and to escape the horrors he found refuge in his mind developing these methods. Some of the methods are not new and have been used for thousands of years. This is why there is some similarity between the Trachtenberg System and Vedic math for instance. However, Jackow felt that even these methods could be simplified further. Unlike Vedic math and other systems like Bill Handley's excellent Speed Math where the method you choose to calculate the answer depends on the numbers you are using, the Trachtenberg System scales up from single digit multiplication to multiplying with massive numbers with no change in the method.
The Trachtenberg Speed System of Basic Math can be taught to children once they can add and subtract. They do not need to have learned the multiplication tables before being able to multiply using this system. The basic multiplication method taught in this system is ideal for children and for adults who feel they are poor at multiplying. The rules are easy to learn and it does not take much practice to become proficient.
Once a child or adult is comfortable with the multiplication tables there is the direct method of multiplication. When multiplying a two digit number by a two digit number, and also when squaring two digit numbers, the Trachtenberg System makes use of binomial expansion to make the calculation easier and faster than the more traditional method of multiplication.
A two digit number, say 43 can be split into 40 + 3.
To generalize this for any two digit number we can replace the numbers with letters.
If we replace 40 with a and the 3 with b we get a + b.
Squaring this number we can represent as \left{(}a+b\right{)}^2
If we multiply this two digit number with another, which we can represent as c + d then it becomes \left{(}a + b\right{)} \times \left{(}c + d\right{)}
Binomial Expansion of \left{(}a + b\right{)}^2
  \[ \left{(}a + b\right{)}^2 = a^2 + 2ab + b^2. \]
Binomial Expansion of \left{(}a + b\right{)} \times \left{(}c + d\right{)}
  \[ \left{(}a + b\right{)} \times \left{(}c + d\right{)} = ac + ad + bc + bd \]
The methods for squaring two digit numbers and multiplying a two digit by two digit number make use of the expanded equations to create the rules you follow to do the calculation.
Don't be alarmed if you do not yet understand this very, very short explanation you do not need to know this to use the method but be assured what you are doing is solid math that always works and not a trick that may work in only some cases.

Once you start using the direct method of multiplication you find that the numbers you are having to mentally add up can get quite large and the totals also can run into several digits when multiplying by numbers with three or more digits. Jakow Trachtenberg also realized this and again he wondered if there was a way to make this easier. There was, and it is the masterpiece of the Trachtenberg System, it is the tens and unit method of multiplication. The tens and unit method is also referred to as the two finger method as you can use two fingers to help keep track of the calculation as you go along.
The calculation only uses only either the unit digit or the tens digit from a two digit result from multiplying two one digit numbers together. This greatly reduces the size of the numbers you are having to add up in your head.
Once learnt the two finger method will allow you to multiply any two numbers together and simply write the answer down as you mentally solve the equation.

Gunmen kill two policemen, injure another in Rivers

Some gunmen in the wee hours of Wednesday launched an attack on a police patrol vehicle in Rivers State, killing two policemen and injuring another.
The two policemen were said to have died during the attack, which occurred around 12.10am on Ada George Road in Port Harcourt.

A security source told our correspondent that the hoodlums left the scene immediately,  adding that the policeman who sustained serious gunshot injuries was later rushed to a hospital.Sources said the gunmen were in a Toyota Sport Utility Vehicle and had opened fire on the patrol vehicle at close range, leaving two of the three occupants of the van with no chance of survival.
“The incident happened early on Wednesday. The gunmen were in a Toyota SUV and opened fire on the patrol vehicle of the policemen. Two died immediately. The third person was seriously injured, but he was rushed to a hospital,” the source said.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the incident and said the policeman, who was injured, was in a critical condition.
“It happened after 12 midnight. The policemen were shot and two of them died. The one that was injured is currently in a hospital, but in a critical condition,” Omoni said.
The state police spokesman, however, pointed out that investigation had started into the matter, adding that the vehicle used by the hoodlums had been identified.
Omoni explained that no stone would be left unturned by the state police command to apprehend those behind the dastardly act.
It will be recalled that the Divisional Police Officer of Rumuolumini Police Station in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Mr Kingsley Chuikwueggu, was murdered in April 2018 by suspected kidnappers and armed robbers in Abia State.
Chukwueggu was on his way back to Port Harcourt from Aboh Mbaise, Imo State, where we went to visit his aged mother.
The hoodlums allegedly responsible for the murder of the DPO had reportedly been arrested by the Rivers State Police

An inflammatory response that results from injury generally lasts only a few days. If inflammation continues, it may eventually be referred to as chronic inflammation, with persistent low-level swelling, prolonged tissue damage, and unusually slow healing

Immediately following an injury, the traumatized area becomes red, warm, and painful, and it begins to swell. The swelling process, also known as edema, is the result of acute inflammation, a response triggered by damage to living tissues.
In the case of injury, the purpose of the inflammatory response is to remove components of damaged tissue in order to allow the body to begin to heal. The first stage of this process is characterized by a change in blood flow in the damaged area. Blood vessels eventually dilate and increase blood flow into the tissue, creating redness in the traumatized area. This is followed by an increase in blood vessel permeability, allowing fluid, proteins, and white blood cells to migrate from the circulation to the site of tissue damage. The flood of fluids, cells, and other substances to the injured site is what produces swelling. Swelling is sometimes so severe that it restricts movement of the affected part of the body.
Swelling, heat, and redness in injured tissue areas is reduced by the work of white blood cells, particularly phagocytes. Phagocytes clean up cellular debris resulting from the injury. Phagocytes known as neutrophils contain granules of digestive enzymes specialized for this process. They typically infiltrate the injured site in large numbers within an hour of injury. One to two days later, other white cells known as monocytes enter the area to complete the process of clearing away dead cells.

Policemen allegedly detain hairstylist for looking like gay

Idowu
Deji Lambo
A hairstylist, Oluwatosin Idowu, has demanded the prosecution of some policemen who allegedly arrested him for looking like a gay.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the 27-year-old, who lived in the Palmgroove, Somolu area of Lagos State, was going to meet a client on Monday in the Ogudu area of the state when the incident happened.
Our correspondent learnt that the Epe, Lagos State indigene, had alighted from a BRT vehicle at Ojota when he was accosted by the gun-wielding operatives around 9am.
He said, “After I alighted from the BRT, I wanted to take a motorcycle to where I was going. But because I had only N1,000 notes on me, I assumed that the motorcyclists might not have change. So, I decided to buy a bottle of soft drink and a snack to get change.
“While I was buying the snack, somebody walked up to me and asked me to introduce myself to him. I asked why and he said he was a policeman. I requested to see his ID card, which he showed me.
“He said I should follow him to where their operational vehicle was parked. On getting to the bus, one of them came down with a gun and demanded my ID card, which I showed him. The next question that followed was, ‘Why are you looking like a girl in your ID card?’ I told him that I had been using the ID card for about four years.”
Idowu noted that efforts to convince the men that he was not a gay were abortive, as they insisted on arresting him.
“The policemen said I should enter the bus. Because I did not want them to hit me, I obeyed. I called my client to inform him about the arrest.
“I thought that they were taking me to Ikorodu, so I called my sister to inform her about the arrest and that they were taking me to Ikorodu. I was not the only one that they arrested.
“When we got to Mile 12, they turned under the bridge and I quickly updated my sister that we were heading towards Maryland. All of them yelled at me for telling my sister about their movement. The policemen took us to the  Iwaya Police Station.
“When we got to the station, I asked the operatives what my offence was. I gave them my phone, opened my chats and told them to go through them for anything incriminating. They didn’t. Instead, they took my shoes and wristwatch and locked me inside a cell,” he added.
PUNCH Metro learnt that Idowu later contacted his uncle, one Mr Taiwo, who reportedly paid N2,000 for his bail.
The victim said he was detained for over eight hours because the policemen insisted that he looked like a gay.
“The policemen locked me up from 9am to around 4pm. I made a video while I was in the cell because I was with my phone. Although the face of the person that arrested me was not in the video, the faces of other members of the team were captured.
“I was the last person to be released because my uncle didn’t come on time. And when he eventually came, he met the officer in charge and inquired about my offence. The officer repeated that I looked too slim and that I was acting like a girl. He said so many abusive things that nobody has ever used on me.
“I lost a client, who had already paid me money, due to this incident. I want to press charges because I want to know why I was detained without committing any offence. I want justice,” Idowu said.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chike Oti, said, “Somebody fingered the guy as a cultist, and he was picked up by men of the Anti Cultism Squad.  He, however, gave a satisfactory account that he is a stylist and was released.
“The Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, has ordered a probe into the allegation he made against the

Alleged N3.2bn fraud: EFCC files amended 39-count charge against Kalu Alleged N3.2bn fraud: EFCC files amended 39-count charge against Kalu Read more at: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/05/alleged-n3-2bn-fraud-efcc-files-amended-39-count-charge-kalu/

The EFCC on Wednesday, filed an amended 39-count charge before a Federal High Court Lagos, against a former Governor of Abia, Orji Uzor Kalu in an alleged N3.2 billion fraud. The EFCC had on Oct. 31, 2016, preferred a 34-count charge bordering against Kalu and a former Commissioner for Finance in Abia, Ude Udeogo. A Company, Slok Nig. Ltd, said to be owned by Kalu, was also joined in the charge. The accused had pleaded not guilty to the charge, and were granted bails. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that at the last adjourned date on May 11, EFCC had closed its case, but had informed the court that it intended to file an amended charge against the accused, to reflect further evidences. The court had then adjourned the case, for the defence to open it’s defence. On Wednesday, when the case was called, the prosecutor Mr Rotimi Jacobs (SAN), informed the court of an amended charge against the accused which he had filed this morning, adding that the prosecution was also served with a no case submission by each of the accused. He said that he received the no case submission of first accused on May 28 at 5pm, while he received those of the second and third accused shortly before the court sat this morning. In response, first defence counsel, Mr Awa Kalu (SAN) confirmed to the court that he had filed a no case submission on behalf of first accused but added that the accused had not been served with any amended charge by prosecution. Second and third defence counsel, Messrs Solo Akuma (SAN) and K. C Nwofo (SAN) also informed the court that they had filed no case submissions on behalf of the second and third accused, which were served on the prosecution this morning. They also informed the court that neither the defence nor any of its legal team had seen or received copies of the said amended charge by prosecution. Specifically, Akuma drew the courts attention to the provisions of sections 216 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, which he argued does not allow prosecution to amend a charge without leave of court. He said that the prosecution ought to have applied by way of motion on notice for amendment, which will afford the defence an opportunity to be heard, before the court exercises it’s discretion for or against the application. When the prosecution opted to serve the charge on defence counsel in court, first defence counsel (Kalu) objected to service, on the grounds that the charge ought to be served personally on the accused and not on his counsel. In his response, Jacobs reminded the court that at the last adjourned date, before he closed the case for the prosecution, he had informed the court of the amended charge. He said that however, following “gentlemen agreements” between him and the defence, he had decided to close his case before bringing the amended charge. He told the court that the era of technicality was gone, and that by the decision of the Supreme Court, the prosecution was not bound to seek leave of court before amending a criminal charge. Jacobs then sought for permission of the court, to serve the amended charge on the accused in the presence of the judge in the courtroom, since defence counsel had refused to take service. Justice Idris consequently held that in the light of the foregoing, the learned prosecutor was permitted to serve the accused with the amended charge in court. Kalu and Udeogo were then respectively handed the amended charge. Defence counsel then informed the court that they required ample time to study the amended charge, before taking any steps. Justice Idris adjourned the case until June 13 at noon, for hearing of both the no case submission and hearing on the amended charge. in the charge, the EFCC alleged that Kalu and the others committed the offences from August 2001 to October 2005. The commission accused Kalu of utilising his company (Slok Nig. Ltd.) to retain in the account of First Inland Bank, now First City Monument Bank, the sum of N200 million. The commission said that the sum formed part of funds illegally derived from the coffers of the Abia State Government. The commission also said that the accused retained, in different bank accounts, about N2.5 billion belonging to the Abia Government. The EFCC alleged that that the accused diverted about N3.2 billion from the coffers of Abia Government. The offences contravenes the provisions of sections 15(6), 16, and 21 of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2005. It also contravenes the provisions of the Money Laundering Act of 1995 as amended by the amendment Act No.9 of 2002 and section 477 of the Criminal Code Act, Laws of the Federation, 1990. (NAN) Related N5.6bn fraud: FG files amended charge against Kalu The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, yesterday, filed an amended 34-count criminal charge against the former governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu. May 17, 2016 EFCC provides more evidence in trial of Kalu The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday called its fifth witness before a Federal High Court, Lagos, in the ongoing trial of a former Abia State Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu. June 7, 2017 Orji Uzor Kalu pleads not guilty to money laundering charges

5 Genius Things To Pack That You Probably Haven’t Thought Of
by UNI JUNKEE  30 MAY 2018
Figuring out what to pack for a trip can be really difficult — you don’t want to overdo it, but you also don’t want to neglect something important, and end up paying for it later.
While there’s no right or wrong when it comes to packing, there are “basics”, “nice-to-haves”, and “just-in-cases”. We’re students, so nice-to-haves are out of the equation. Just-in-cases, however? That’s the stuff that saves us a lot of money and hassle.
#1 Sunscreen
Sunscreen is one of those things you don’t realise you need until you really, really need it. Like when you wake up ready for a day at the beach, look out the window, and it’s 30 freakin’ degrees.
The other thing is that sunscreen gets extra expensive when you’re desperate — pharmacies in the city or airports cost an arm and a leg for a simple tube of Banana Boat.
Solve this problem ahead of time by chucking in a little tube instead.
#2 Ziplock Bags
It’s so easy for your shit to get lost in your luggage, especially if you’re a) disorganised b) lazy, or c) all of the above. (Guilty.)
Putting your phone charger, passport, toiletries, or kindle in a plastic bag will make them way easier to find. Bonus: they’ll be completely protected in the freak circumstance that you and your suitcase fall into a river.
#3 Poncho Or Rain Jacket
Nothing fancy — just the kind you can roll up and stuff in the outer pocket of your suitcase. If you’re going to a country with tropical weather, an unexpected downpour of rain isn’t uncommon. With a rain jacket you’ll have a safety net in case it turns wet, or even cold.
#4 Ibuprofen
Whether brought on from a hangover, or that guy with the really annoying voice in your hostel, you’re bound to get a headache at some point in your trip. And just like sunscreen, you take it for granted until you actually need it.
Keep a stash in your day bag for emergencies. Even if you don’t use it, a fellow traveller probably will, and you’ll soon become their new bestie.
#5 USB
You know how your parents harp on and on about taking a copy of your passport, or printing out your itinerary before you go?
What you know — and they don’t — is that paper cramps your style. And honestly, there’s a 95 per cent chance you’ll lose it before you hit the third country on your Contiki tour.
Instead, keep a small USB in a small pocket that’s loaded up with all of this information. If you really, really need it, you can go to an internet cafe and print it off. Done.

A Must Read] How I Masturbated 4 Times Daily For 7 Years & How I Got Delivered

masturbate
Someone sent this.
I’m writing this to share my experience with masturbation addiction, because this has become a problem for many teenagers and adults, both male and female. I almost ruined my life with incessant masturbation, i do it 2-4 times daily, i derived pleasure in engaging in it not knowing I was making my life miserable.
I started masturbating at the Age of 16 after watching a pornography and I wanted to know if i’m matured enought to Erupt. I masturbated for good 7 years, I enjoyed doing it, it was quickie, I masturbate to ease myself when i’m restless, unhappy or tired. I was terribly addicted to it, i do it in the bathroom, in my room, or anytime i’m lonely. I enjoyed it most especially when i’m watching pornography, it was sweet, i didn’t have a girlfriend, i was battling low self esteem. It was crazy, it was fun, especially when you’re about to Erupt but immediately you Erupt, you become remorsed for doing it. Masturbation addiction made me loose so many things in life, i was stagnant, disappointment, delay to success, difficulties began to set in, it almost ruined my sex life.
It affected my health because i was always weak, i was having heart burn, burning discomfort in my abdomen region, ache in my joystick region. It affected me academically, financially, morally and spiritually as a christian. I needed to stop it cos I was already seeing the repercussion, it was so hard for me to stop it, I tried praying and fasting but it didn’t work, I googled some articles online on how to stop masturbation, it worked, yes it worked but I found myself doing it again after 2 months of abstinence. Well, according to some medical doctors, it is very healthy to masturbate, while according to some pastors, it is a sin, while some pastors say it is not a sin. Whichever way, masturbation is addictive and most people do abuse it. I abused it, it wasn’t easy to stop but it deals with your mindset. It can be good to masturbate once or twice in a month but it can be very dangerous if you masturbate everyday.
Once you start masturbating, it becomes hard for you to stop, for me, i think those who masturbate everytime are perverts. Masturbation is still safer than sex, but it ruins you psychologically when you become an addict. So many became an addict like me, some are still an addict, while some will be an addict. If you are feeling guilty after masturbation, it means you know it is bad. Masturbation is good but when you become an addict, then it is bad. I’m sure you want to stop it but you just don’t know how to stop it, i went through a lot when i needed to stop it, it takes the grace of God to stop chronic masturbation, if possible deliverance. For me, i’ll rather advice you to masturbate than to visit a prostitute, but believe me abstinence is the best. Masturbating everytime is evil..
I cried, I prayed and asked God for forgiveness, promised never to do it again, but I will come back and do it. I became fustrated, I couldn’t speak to anyone about it, whom do I talk to? that i’m addicted to masturbation? God forbid! I was only naive and foolish, speaking to someone about it was the best, not just anybody, speak to someone who is sane and sage. I remember I told someone about it and the silly advice the person gave me was, ”masturbation reduces the risk of prostrate cancer”, like seriously? Is that what I need? Watch who you talk to.
So many teenagers and youth masturbates 2-3 times daily, which is bad, you’re a pervert if you do this. It would affect you negatively. How I got delivered from masturbation wasn’t easy at all, some of the 5 major steps i took.
1. I Talked To Someone/Counsellor: I was having difficulties on how to stop this, i decided to talk to someone/counsellor, to seek an advice. They guided me, led me in righteous path. You could go to rehab center or groups, they are willing to help you. I don’t know if speaking to a pastor is adviceable cos sometimes, things like this is not only about deliverance and prayers or even fasting. You can pray, fast about it but you should also consult someone or people that are going to help you fight it.
You can’t fight masturbation addiction by yourself, talk to someone, don’t be ashamed to talk to someone. Chronic masturbation is still better than visiting prostitutes regularly, so speak to someone who you think that can help you.
2. I Got Myself Busy: Being idle is a disease, when i didn’t have anything to do, i tried to read some books, bible, watch movies, visit a friend, i wasn’t alone. Cos when you’re alone, that thought comes straight into your mind. I’ll advice you to just sleep. In my own case, during this stage, i discovered my writing talent, i also discovered Naijaloaded and I was inspired to start a blog of mine, i started a Fiction & Non-Fiction Stories blog. I got busy and addicted to my blog and writing stories, my blog now has over 3 million views out of being idle and abstinence from masturbation. Find something to do, don’t be idle….
3. Deleted Pornography From My Phone And My Life: This is important, to me i still prefer you stay away from browsing and camera phones, stick to non browsing phones, phones that don’t have video camera and start using Nokia torchlight for some period. I was adviced to stay away from browsing phones, i had to use a non browing phone for a long time. Although, its not easy to do for some people to do away with browsing and camera phones, but i’ll advice you to delete every pornography pictures and videos on your phone and laptop, like i did.
4. Stopped Visiting Pornography Sites Or Groups: There are so many porn sites, i ran away from them, i stopped visiting them. I remember i used to bookmark them, i had over 20 hottest and favourite pornsites, i had to delete them. Also, i know there are some porn groups on BBM, Whatsapp and other social media platform, please stay away for a long time. I stayed away from them and i survived..
5. I Stayed Away From Sexchat or phone intimacy: This is one of the most horrible thing to do, sex chatting, phone intimacy is a gateway to masturbation, is it possible to sex chat and not masturbate? Is it possible? No, it not possible, the worst part is the sex chatting on Skype, or any video calling media. Its dangerous, exchanging Unclad pictures and all that, i just had to stop all of it. You also have to stop it as well.
You just have to fight like I fought mine. If you don’t have a girlfriend or sex mate, i’ll advice you to masturbate once or twice in a month to ease yourself or better still don’t masturbate at all if you’re the pervert type.
This is my little story on masturbation addiction, how I became a survivor, how I fought it. I’m sure you can get some helpful tips from my testimony.
